About O Scale Model

O Scale Model is a blog where I try to combine my hobbies of diorama-building, modelling World War II vehicles and figures, model railroading, wargaming and photography.

If you are new here, I’ll recommend the Article Overview, where you can get an idea of most of the stuff here.

I’ve built in various scales before such as HO, N, 1:72 and 1:35, but this blog will focus on my projects in O scale, which is 1:45 or 1:48, depending on which side of the Atlantic you live on. :-)

I am fond of building dioramas for use as backdrops for my models. I have already completed a monastery diorama and am currently working on a castle diorama set in Germany around 1930, using the excellent molds from Hirst Arts. My tiny collection of models comes from Tamiya, with narrow gauge trains from Fleischmanns now discontinued Magic Train series. Later on I hope to create other dioramas, one normal-gauge railroad diorama with a loading diorama, also set in Germany and another set in Colorado in the US, using the great narrow gauge models of Bachmann on On30 track.

Well, I’d better get modelling, so I have something more to show here. :-)

Welcome aboard!
